Graeme McDowell
On the course Graeme’s greatest achievements, so far in his career, include victory at the 2010 US Open Champion at Pebble Beach and in the same year sealing victory in the Ryder Cup for Europe at Celtic Manor. Off the course Graeme enjoys spending time with his family and friends in both Florida and his birthplace Portrush, watching football and movies.
The G-Mac Foundation was set up by my wife, Kristin and I and supports children’s medical research in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and in the United States.
In 2013 Graeme opened the Nona Blue Modern Tavern restaurant and bar outside Lake Nona in Orlando and in 2016 he opened Nona Blue Ponte Vedra Beach just outside the gates of PGA TOUR headquarters. Included on the menu is the must-try G-Mac and Cheese!
In 2022 Graeme teamed up with Global Award Winning Beverage Company to launch a new Irish Whiskey with an American Finish. “Grey Coast is a representation of me and my life. From overseeing every aspect of the brand to doing numerous tastings until the unique blend of whiskies was just right, I’ve worked hard to ensure this whiskey reflects who I am – and I couldn’t be happier with the result.” Grey Coast Whiskey is available across North America and Ireland.

Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship
Graeme opened with a solid 70 on day 1 and made an encouraging start to his second round with birdies at the third and fourth. But after getting into bunker trouble at the fifth and running up a triple-bogey seven it was always going to be an uphill battle to get back in the mix. Graeme did get one shot back at the sixth but that proved to be his final birdie of the tournament as he struggled home in 37 to close on one under.
Graeme returns as defending champion this week to the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship in the Dominican Republic. Watch Graeme talking at the press conference about his win last season and how he secured the title on Sunday.

U.S. Open
Graeme’s week ended early as his second round got off with a run of dropped shots which then left him with too much ground to make up on this tough golf course. He heads home with rounds of 76 and 80.
It wasn’t a great day for Graeme on the fist day at Winged Foot and he is now in a battle to make the cut after a six over par 76.
A double-bogey at the fourth was tempered as he made the turn just one over par but five unanswered drop-shots on the back nine left the Portrush man with it all to do.
“I missed the 12th fairway, the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th fairways,” he reflected. “I made the mistakes that you just can’t make out here really, which is not getting the ball in play off the tee. I’ve got a lot of work to do tomorrow.”
