Graeme McDowell

On the course Graeme’s greatest achievements, so far in his career, include victory at the 2010 US Open Champion at Pebble Beach and in the same year sealing victory in the Ryder Cup for Europe at Celtic Manor. Off the course Graeme enjoys spending time with his family and friends in both Florida and his birthplace Portrush, watching football and movies.

The G-Mac Foundation was set up by my wife, Kristin and I and supports children’s medical research in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and in the United States.

In 2013 Graeme opened the Nona Blue Modern Tavern restaurant and bar outside Lake Nona in Orlando and in 2016 he opened Nona Blue Ponte Vedra Beach just outside the gates of PGA TOUR headquarters. Included on the menu is the must-try G-Mac and Cheese!

In 2022 Graeme teamed up with Global Award Winning Beverage Company to launch a new Irish Whiskey with an American Finish. “Grey Coast is a representation of me and my life. From overseeing every aspect of the brand to doing numerous tastings until the unique blend of whiskies was just right, I’ve worked hard to ensure this whiskey reflects who I am – and I couldn’t be happier with the result.” Grey Coast Whiskey is available across North America and Ireland.

Masters Tournament

Graeme shot a 73 in his 2nd round and misses the cut by 1 shot at the Masters Tournament.  Graeme’s 2nd round was disrupted by a weather delay and when he resumed on the 9th he shot a bogey and looked doomed. He then went to +2 on 16 but a birdie on the 17th gave him a chance to make a great escape on the 18th. However, a second shot to the back of the green left him an uphill putt that was one foot short.

Day 1

Graeme first round charge at The Masters suffered a brutal end after the Rathmore man double-bogeyed his final hole of the day to sign for a level-par 72 at Augusta National.

The World No.66, making his first appearance at the tournament since 2016, had bounced back superbly from two early bogeys and was on track for a solid round on a rain-soaked first day of the final Major of the year until the cruel finish.

After waiting out a three-hour delay following torrential morning rain at Augusta, Graeme had bogeyed his opening hole, the 10th, and then dropped a further stroke at the par-five 13th.

But G-Mac turned it around with an unlikely birdie via a chip-in at the par-three 16th, and then, after the turn, back-to-back birdies followed at the 2nd and 3rd to get him back into red figures, with another birdie coming on the par-five 8th.

However, Augusta does not afford you rest and just when it seemed Graeme had a good round in the bag, it struck back. After chipping out sideways having been driven behind a tree on the 9th, the 41-year-old missed a six-footer for bogey, finishing his day where he started with a 72.

Former US Open champion Graeme resumed with a bogey on 9 and looked doomed when he went to +2 on 16 but a birdie on the 17th gave him a chance to make a great escape on the 18th.

However, a second shot to the back of the green left him an uphill putt that was one foot short.
